PRIDE Pupils Receiving Inclusive Diversified Education |
Sacred Heart of Mary is fortunate to be one of two schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore that has the PRIDE program. PRIDE is an innovative archdiocesan program designed to meet the special needs of students of average and above average intelligence with minimal learning disabilities in grades K-8.
The program is staffed by highly qualified teachers, trained in the field of special education. Teachers design specific programs, to meet the personal needs of each child. Small class sizes ensure that children receive their fair share of individualized attention, thus strengthening the values of integrity, respect and dependable work habits.
Students in the PRIDE program are with their PRIDE teacher for Language Arts and Mathematics and then with their homeroom for all other courses. The PRIDE teacher works closely with each student's teachers to make sure they are getting whatever services they need to help them be strong learners.
